IASMP is a not-for-profit organization that promotes education and practice of medical physics led by physicists whoes journey originated from the South Asian subcontinent.
Indo American Society of Medical Physicists was founded in 1993 with the objective of encouraging the application of physics in medicine in the USA and Canada by bringing together physicists from South Asia while facilitating the sharing of their common heritage and culture. This is a forum for medical physicists to interact and exchange ideas and vigorously engage in the advancement of medical physics, research and education. IASMP members across USA and Canada work closely with many AAPM corporate members to develop and test new ideas and products adopted in medical physics practice.
The Association collaborates with a number of organizations around the world to advance and promote the quality and safety in medical physics. Currently, the IASMP has an active membership of over 200 physicists.
